Hands Up If You're Human

From Anxiety to Authenticity - Find Your Freedom with Caroline Scarles

Wyndham James Season 3 Episode 39

This episode I am joined by the simply brilliant Caroline Scarles for a far roaming and honest conversation.

With more than 20 years in academia it would be easy to think of Caroline as a list of impressive sounding titles. Vice Dean and Professor carry implied weight as well as long tradition. But, along with her colleague, being the first women to hold certain senior positions at the university she lectured at, Caroline is acutely aware of the importance of letting your true self shine through.

In our conversation we cover the importance of authenticity, especially as a woman in another traditionally male dominated arena, the impact a recent ADHD diagnosis has had on how she shows up, the ever fewer fucks she has to give as a result of perimenopause, the role her mental health and long-covid and art has played in shaping her outlook on life and the enormous joy she gets from hosting mental health wild swims.

This is a brilliant conversation and one that could have gone on and on.
